Kids and Teens Mountain Biking Adventure Rides
Once again Bangor Parks and Recreation and Eastern Maine Cycling Club are partnering up to bring your Kids Mountain Bike Adventure Rides.
Dates: August 11th & 13th
Grades 1-3 8:00-9:30 am
Grades 4-10 9:45-11:15 am
We will meet at the Essex Woods Recreation Area (12 Watchmaker Ave Bangor, ME)
Kids Mountain Bike Adventure Rides are a great way for kids to build strong bodies, build confidence, have tons of fun and enjoy being outside!
These rides allow children to have fun while enjoying the outdoors and getting some fitness. In addition to learning some biking skills, we teach respect for the parks, trails, and other trail users. The ride will be well staffed and every safety precaution will be observed. Riders must have a well working bike, properly fitted helmet, water and snack for the ride. All riders must wear closed-toed shoes - no flip flops or sandals.
Kids and Teens Advanced Mountain Bike Adventure Rides
Once again Bangor Parks and Recreation and Eastern Maine Cycling Club are partnering to bring you Kids Mountain Bike Adventure Rides.
Dates: DATE CHANGE - August 19
Grades 4-10 9:00am-12:00 pm
We will meet at the Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery (306 Hatchery Rd, Orland ME)
Children wanting to participate in this Adventure Ride must have participated in Session 3 of Kids Shred Camp or be evaluated prior to the event. Please contact Sarah to set up an evaluation firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be exploring the newly built singletrack trails built at Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust. Ride time will be roughly 2 hours and will consist of a mix of gravel roads and singletrack. Riders can expect climbing and long descents.
After the ride we will enjoy swimming and lunch at Alamoosook Lake. Children will be responsible for bringing their own lunch for after the ride (we will have a cooler and some water). They will also need a hydration pack, granola bars (for the ride), bathing suit, towel, and change of clothes.
