This year, the Bangor Parks and Recreation Department and Sawyer Arena will be offering Learn to Skate USA on Sunday Evenings. Participants will be grouped by ability and progress at their own pace.

Each class is 30 minutes long.
Optional practice times:
4:10 - 5:40 pm / All skaters (NO JUMPS OR SPINS)
5:50 - 7:20 pm / All skaters (JUMPS AND SPINS OK)
All fees include membership in Learn to Skate USA
4:10 - 4:40 pm - New to Skating? Sign up for this beginner class. (Snowplow Sam or Basic 1)
4:40 - 5:10 pm - Ready to go backwards and skate on one foot? Sign up for our advanced beginner class (Snowplow Sam 4 or Basic 2)
5:10 - 5:40 pm - Getting ready for crossovers and skating on one foot backwards? (Basic 3 or 4)
Interested in trying a Learn to Skate Competition? Sign up for our Learn to Compete Class. This extra class is open to all students of any skill level. Skaters do not have to attend a competition to be part of this class.
Want to skate but need some assistance? Join our class designed for skaters who need help physically or intellectually with skating skills. This class will use the Special Olympics and Therapeutic Curriculum from Learn To Skate USA
5:50 - 6:20 pm - Ready for forward and backwards crossovers? (Basic 4, 5 or 6)
6:20 - 6:50 pm - Pre-Free Skate (This class replaces Basic 7 & 8) and Free Skate 1, 2 or 3
6:50 - 7:20 pm - Free Skate 4, 5 & 6
Sawyer Arena DOES NOT rent skates!
